You Can Save Big Money With Entertainment Books

There aren't too many people who don't enjoy going out and doing things. Whether it's a dinner out, a movie, a play or something similar, it is fun. Even though it is great to do all these things, not many people can afford to do them regularly and even those that can afford it don't like the idea of spending money on that. However, it doesn't always cost a lot to go out, especially if you are smart about it. One way to go out and save money at the same time is entertainment books.

You get many coupons for restaurants, activities and retailers when buying an entertainment book. What is really great about these coupons is that they are actually for places you would spend your money on anyway. For example, there are always fast food restaurant coupons. As most of the people get some food every once in a while from these restaurants, then having a few coupons would be quite useful.

You can use the coupons for yourself or share them with someone. You would also be provided with coupons for more expensive restaurants and family restaurants if purchasing entertainment books. Maybe you would never go to such fancy dining places but if you have some coupons you might decide to give it a try on a special occasion.

You can use coupons in many other places, too. There are many activities to choose from. If you golf you might actually save some money next time you play golf if you keep your coupons from entertainment books. Or you'd rather go to the opera or the theatre? To be completely honest, I had never been to the opera, the symphony and many other great places before I discovered entertainment books. Having these coupons enabled me to try new things without considering the cost. It is really great what some coupons might do for you, they will open the doors of many unseen or unvisited places for you.

If you buy entertainment books which are quite cheap your family and you would get coupons which could be used in your local area or while travelling. Apart from the low cost of entertainment books, they are also often sold as some sort of fundraiser so you can make a small charity to support a venture. With coupons you can keep on participating in all the activities you always do but you can save some money which will give you the opportunity to try a few new things you haven't done or haven't experienced. Never again will you need to say "If only I could afford this or that".

This is a frustrating book. While I understand that cramming everything that needs to be known about a car between two covers is a nearly impossible task, it seemd like nothing I wanted to do was adequately explained.



The switch for my AC/heater gave out...the explanation for how to remove it was complicated and confusing. I'm not sure if I can do it without completely disassembling the heater control panel or not. My speedo cable squeaks...I can't even find any mention of the speedo cable in the book. There's an explanation of how to pull the instrument cluster...but for some reason, it doesn't mention where any of the cables or wires that connect to it are located.



I browsed some other sections, and they seemed just as confusingly written as the areas I was interested in.



I would only get this manual as a supplement to another one. It's got the information that someone with a good deal of experience needs to work on their car, but it isn't good enough for an amateur, even a fairly experienced one like me.

Customer Review: Better than a microscope!

Well, my son is not much into toys - eventhough he's only 9, he prefers books and videogames(which I do not allow him to have). He almost never asks for a toy so I got this for him and we all ended up enjoying it. It is amazing - especially if you have an LCD screen to watch it on. Hair, skin, saliva, salt, pepper, sugar, we just go crazy with the things we want to inspect. It was worth the money!! It is fun and educational by arousing scientific curiosity in our son.

my white macbook picked up scratches in its first two days with me, even with tender treatment and without leaving the house. a cover like this one is a must. my speck cover snapped on easily and doesn't impede the computer's function in any way. fortunately i haven't dropped it (yet) so i can't speak to impact protection, but i have read several other reviews that said the speck cover protected a hard fall onto asphalt and similar surfaces.

The backpack I got is beautiful!!! I can fit in it my 15 inch laptop, 5 inch binder and a 2-3 inch book with no problems. On top of binder there is room for lunch and small notebook. Car Lots Should Be Using Scrapbooks In Their Businesses

I?ve always wondered why I have never seen a scrapbook in the lobby of a car lot. Since I lease my vehicles, at least once every 5 years I find myself sitting in someone?s office as I wait for a manager somewhere to decide what price to charge me. During those 5 or 10 minutes I?m sitting there, I psyche myself up to be very defensive, knowing I won?t like the price, knowing I?ll have to negotiate, knowing I may walk out. I also know from conversations with many other people that they too spend those 5 or 10 minutes feeling the exact same way and becoming more defensive as the seconds tick by.

What a much more pleasant experience it would be if I had a scrapbook to look through. There are so many items that a car dealership could put into their scrapbook. They could start with cars through the years. I know when the car shows are in my town, thousands of people come out to see these vintage automobiles. Not only do car designs and models change, but colors have changed over the years too.

In addition, there are sometimes special edition vehicles that come out once and then they are gone. There are also models that don?t make it and are quickly removed from the line up. Photos of all of these cars would be wonderful to see.

What about photos of customers? I always see the company white boards of how many vehicles each sales person has sold, but so what? This means nothing to me. Seeing a photo of my next door neighbor making a purchase would mean a lot more. Or seeing a photo of the local newscaster would mean much more than the board with the sales person?s name on it.

What about photos of other employees who work there? I was surprised to learn that a man I?ve known for several years as an acquaintance worked at one of the car dealerships I had walked out of on my last vehicle purchase. Perhaps he and I knowing each other could?ve saved the deal. Maybe not, but we?ll never know.

What about photos of the car dealership out in the community helping out? I know that one local dealership is very involved in serving food at the local soup kitchen. I only know this because I?ve been told. How wonderful to see the salesperson who is attempting to make a sale with me, in a photo serving food at the local soup kitchen. Wow, would that give me a different perspective.

A scrapbook of all of the above would be so much nicer for the customer versus spending 10 minutes getting more and more defensive and being ready to attack when the salesperson comes back.

The Western Digital "My Book" Terra Byte external hard drive is a great value, east-to-use, and solid performer. I am using it on a home network though an HP Desktop (Pavilion 450n) as a group backup device with VISTA.



The easiest thing was setting it up. Plug in the firewire (faster than the USB 2.0) and the power cable, turn it on and you're in business. VISTA recognized it immediately as an external hard drive and it was easy to access.



I am using it for regular (weekly) backups of three computers on the network as a central backup device.



I have found it to be fast and quiet. I am thrilled with it and highly recommend central backup - safe from any single device failing or becoming corrupted. All those wedding pictures, personal photos, financial records, etc. etc.



Customer Review: Works, but prevents PCs from booting

Mine works, but if it is connected to my PCs while they are booting (tried it on two), they hang in the BIOS screen.



To use the drive, I've got to connect it to the PC after it is booted. I do *not* recommend this drive.

Customer Review: Should Not be Marley's Bestselling

First of all, I do not own this CD, but I own almost every Bob Marley and the Wailers album, and have heard every song on this compilation. I'm also not a fan of compilation albums, because they do not give a good representation of the quality of the artist, it's just like listening to the radio. The songs chosen are all great songs, but where is Kaya, Concrete Jungle, or any song off Survival, which is his best album. If you are a new fan, I suggest to start off with one of his real albums, either Kaya, Natty Dread, Survival, or Exodus. Ultimately, looking at the track listing makes me disappointed that these are the only songs most people are hearing. If you start out with this, it makes less sense to purchase an album of which you already have a couple songs, this is a dead end album. I think if I had bought this album, I would have never bought all the other ones, which I never get tired of listening to.

Customer Review: Another Seuss Winner from Learning Company!

This is my third CD-Rom purchase from The Learning Company, and I can't give them high enough ratings. The first time my 4 year-old son played the Green Eggs & Ham CD (after having devoured their Cat In The Hat game -- see my review of that CD-Rom for more details), I thought it was a let-down. Shows what I know. My son wanted to keep playing it, and after one or two times, he discovered in this game the same level of depth, creativity and imagination as we found in the Cat In The Hat CD. In fact, this CD even allows you to select more difficult levels of play for the matching game (at which my son, at the highest level, is much more adept at than I am -- apparently I need to stick to the first level!).

Like the Cat In The Hat story, this one allows your child to decide whether they want the story read to them or they want to interact. For those who want to interact, it provides different levels of varying, interesting interaction; I didn't realize it until my son showed me, but many of the story items do something different every time they're clicked! And it's not like the items just move a little bit when clicked; the animate objects either do an elaborate dance or deliver a clever little Seussian rhyme about their situation, and the inanimate objects...I can't even describe the type of fun they demonstrate. You'll have to take my word for it. It really seems like Dr. Seuss created this software himself! I can't recommend it highly enough for children from their first introduction to computers to about 5 or 6 years old (when everything becomes dumb).

Customer Review: Entertaining Education!

I purchased this software for my 4 year old son because I was getting tired of renewing it over and over again at the library! He would sit at the computer playing with this software for hours, if I would let him! A juice box and a bowl of goldfish and he'd be all set. :-)

As big fans of all of the Learning Company titles, we knew we would love this one, too. Besides the wonderful rhymes from the beloved Dr. Seuss, there is sheer enjoyment to be had clicking all over the screen. The results are hilarious!

To show you the software's appeal, my 10 year old daughter always seems to find an excuse to be near the computer when my son is playing this game, and the next thing you know, they're sitting in the chair together, having a wonderful time.

An excellent piece of software, and I highly recommend it!

Jane Austen's classic novel of 1813, Pride and Prejudice, still wins the hearts of countless schoolgirls with its romantic story of Elizabeth Bennet and her Mr. Darcy. Now, the 1996 BBC miniseries is winning over adults, with its faithful adaptation, gorgeous scenery, and superb acting.

The essence of the story is the antagonism between Mr. Darcy, a wealthy single man who believes Elizabeth to be beneath him, and Elizabeth, who upon being insulted at a dance by the aloof Darcy refuses to associate with him in any manner. Austen evokes incredible tension with the wit and flirtation of the two characters, and director Simon Langton (who also directed Upstairs Downstairs) successfully translates the repartee and conflict in this six-hour miniseries. Dialogue, for the most part, is painstakingly replicated, except when fleshing out and smoothing for modern sensibilities was necessary. Darcy, for instance, is drawn out, giving his personality significantly more depth. The acting sweeps you away to Regency England: Jennifer Ehle (of Wilde) is convincing as the obstinate Elizabeth, who, despite her mother's attempts to marry her off, spurs the attentions of Darcy. And Colin Firth (of The English Patient) will have women everywhere longing for a Mr. Darcy of their own.

For those who have been on an Austen binge--enjoying such excellent adaptations as Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion--this miniseries will round out the ultimate Austen video library. For those new to these romantic period pieces, this version of Pride and Prejudice will have you hooked and longing for more. One caveat, however: plan to watch it in an entire day, because very few have the self-control to not watch all six hours in a single sitting. --Jenny Brown

Customer Review: Get the VHS tapes

I love this show. But, the DVD color ruined it. Even with the brightness all the way up, the people had black blobs on their heads instead of hair and the shadows were all pitch black and the bright colors were bluish.



Oh and I bought the special edition, in 2008, and it said it had been remastered for the best quality in picture and sound. Well, they still have some work to do!



I returned the DVD and got the tapes from Amazon marketplace. So beautiful and well worth it!! Get the tapes. There are 6 tapes and even with the hassles of the tapes I was as enchanted as I was when I first saw this on PBS and waited for a rerun!!

Compared to other available reproductions of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, the dialog is very accurate - which makes this a long film, but a must have for any Jane Austen lover, or for any admirer of Mr. Darcy, whom Colin Firth portrays excellently.

I have enjoyed the other Spanish Immersion series very much. I have learned and grown in my language skills. However, this one, I think it is The road or path to Fluency, is only a listen to type of CD's. They are great to listen to but I was very disappointed that it is all about listening. As we all know in language learning, listening is only PART of it, one must repeat, repeat and repeat. Answering questions over the little conversations would have been so much better. What a great, fun album! Our 23 month old has been listening to it for about 6 months now, and loves to speak along to it. Different songs are favorites at different times. My husband and I think it is catchy and fun for us, too. If your toddler is going to demand songs be repeated "one more time" as our does, these are songs you can listen to, too, "one more time" ad infinitum (almost). I bought the My Book Studio Edition 500 GB drive specifically for use as a backup drive in conjunction upgrading my IMAC operating system. I installed Leopard and needed a dedicated drive for Time Machine. I've been using it for about a month and there have not been any malfunctions. In fact there have been no surprises. It takes up little room, is quiet enough (though not silent) and was no problem to install. I am completely satisfied.

I am speaking about the My Studio 500GB for the Mac. In looking for a good external storage device for regular daily back-up I was guided to all sorts of products. But the My Studio was recommended the most and even was a highly recommended drive from the experts at Apple. The installation was easy (just connect and the software is loaded onto the computer automatically). Keep the software icon in the dock and you are all set. I travel a lot and I use the MacBook Pro (I still use Tiger OS X) and when I get home I simply attach the Firewire 800 (included in the box along with Firewire 400 and a USB cord) and the External Drive updates my backup within seconds. Yes, the initial back-up of the files took about 45 minutes, but then I had a lot of huge files and photos and music on my internal drive. But now, I leave the My Studio plugged into the power outlet and all I need to do is attach the firewire and the external drive turns on and backs up any changes within a minute. I can purge deleted files if I want, but I prefer to keep old files and the 500GB has the room. When I leave, I just quit the software and eject the My Book and it turns off all by itself (don't touch the on/off button; it is all automatic). I highly recommend this to Mac users. Don't get the WD 500GB for the PC even though it says it is good for Mac. You have to reformat the entire Drive and it does not work well with Mac. It costs a little more for the My Studio 500GB for Mac, but the ease of use is well worth it. Thanks Apple for the recommendation!

Customer Review: A massive dissapointment

Somehow, I thought I remembered most of the Dr. Seuss stories being interesting animations from the 1960s, when I was a child. However, I now realize that only a few proper animations were created (like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas). This DVD is an overpriced, underproduced waste of time. It is merely the illustrations from the books brought to life - poorly. The movements are jerky and silly, the voiceovers are embarassing, and it captures my 3 year old twins imagination about as much as a blank screen. They LOVE the equivalent books, and we read them constantly. They are NOT interested in these amateurish renderings (which at times look like cut and paste silliness like Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame). If a three year old can tell the difference, then you will too. Even though the animation is limited, in the "Ken Burns" style or worse, the DVD compression is lousy with tons of visible artifacts all over the images. Do yourself and your kids a favor and buy the real books. Random House and Sony Wonder - whose logos introduce these productions - should be ashamed to market such inferior nonsense.

Customer Review: Auto shut off is annoying

Seems reliable, quiet, and fast enough... but i really don't like the auto shut off feature. If you don't use it for 10 minutues it shuts down. When you try to access a file from it again, it goes back on. I could be working on a file, step away for a minute, then come back to it and save... and then it has to spin up again just to save. This takes a few seconds every time this happens, which slows me down.



Also... I am unsure of the longevity of an electronic item which is constantly going on and off. In any electronic device, a surge is sent through the device when powering up. We all know that this process of starting up is what wears electronics out, and decreases their life.



So.... if there is someone out there that knows how to turn this feature off... please let me know. I would love it if without auto shut off.

After a long time I'm compelled to recommend a book to all lawyers- present or past, all judges- present , past or wannabes, with or without a conscience and every person who has the remotest interest in law and politics. It was a thrilling fictional version of all that we already know and indeed the best work of John Grisham so far.



As a former lawyer, I strongly disagree with all those who would venture to argue that those judges who are appointed are not much better than the elected ones. They sadly missed the whole point. I absolutely love the color of this bag! The plaid also adds detail to an otherwise plain bag, something I was looking for, among all of the plain bags on the market today. I can fit several text books side-by-side and my laptop inside, yet I don't feel like I'm carrying a bulky backpack around with me. "Jump on a square shape," "Slide over to a red shape," "Hop to a shape with an animal on it" and so on. Then it might tell you to freeze, or to put a body part on one pad, and then a different body part on another. Then, it'll tell you that if you are on a particular pad at the end of that round, you are the winner. These girls are both very bright, but I believe that it will take another 6 months for them to be able to really play this together. I may have to sit down with them and just reveiw all of the different shapes and colors and drawings that are on the pads that the game is centered around. I had their Dad sit down with them because I was busy cooking breakfast......I think that someone with a little more patience has to be prepared to sit down with the young ones and maybe review the items with them.......other than that, I can't wait until I get the chance to do it with them.....it seems like a lot of fun for them and my kind of toy....educational.
