Customer Review: I've had a good experience with Quickbooks Pro for Mac

I realize there are quite a few negative reviews here, but I have had nothing but good result from this program. My wife and I run a consulting firm and the fact that Quickbooks has a consulting firm set-up feature sold me on it. We do not need to track sales or inventory, and Quickbooks was able to make that distinction and set up our business just the way it needed to be. The Business Walkthrough is a great feature and made setting up shop very simple.



I was a little intimidated in the beginning, since I have little accounting experience. But I printed out and read the section on Consulting from the help document and everything became more clear to me. Now that I have a better grasp of the features I am much more comfortable with the program. It reminds me a lot of Quicken I use for personal finance, which helps with the comfort factor.



I downloaded the Trial first, and was able to perform all functions and even set up the company. I wanted to see if it would afford everything I needed, and it did. I would recommend people try it first, to see if it gives you everything you are looking for.



My only complaint is the update pricing, or lack there of. Intuit should offer discounts to it's loyal customers.



I would recommend this program to anyone in the consulting field due to the defined business model it can spit out. I like not having all the extra accounts and expenses I don't need to track.

The only thing worse that Quickbooks for Windows is Quickbooks for Mac. As users of both products, I agree completely with the multiple negative reviews posted earlier. Intuit's refusal to support bugs within their software is unethical. I'd say criminal, but since we all have to agree to a disclaimer that no piece of software comes with any guarantee to do anything, anytime, anywhere, there's no legal recourse.



When are the consumer protection groups going to wake up and go after software companies for their refusal to take responsibility for their products, with Intuit at the head of the line? When are we consumers going to wake up and tell our accountants to take their requirement we use Quickbooks and give us some real alternatives?



I suppose a big part of the problem is that there aren't any decent alternatives. Quickbooks seems to have killed most of them off - but you might take a look at the open source GnuCash program. Perhaps it can morph into a Quickbooks alternative.

After being completely obsessed with Twilight I went and purchased the next two books in the series. Despite the heartfelt good bys in the beginning the book kept me interested with drama and a new love beginning to form with Bella. I guess I was rooting for Edward as I knew he would have to come back at some point but I wanted her happy wit Jacob too. The book was wonderful to read gave a lot of good information, love twist and suspense. I would gladly recommend this series!

So after becoming completely obessed with Twilight, I rushed down to the bookstore so that I could continue reading about Bella's journey in New Moon. I was all completely shocked, sad, and excited at the same time. I must admit that for a good part of this book it was almost getting to the point where I was about to fall out of love with this book. Bella goes through a very emotional time and it was getting to be a little boring to read about. But thankfully we get to see more of Jacob who brings a LOT more to the story. Just Like Twilight, New Moon is very adventurous and exciting. Now I can't wait to read Eclipse!

Customer Review: Buy another book. Any book.

Where can I start - I bought the Haynes manual to do some work on my E30. The book has two main problems - it doesn't contain the information you need, and some of what little information they bother to include is just plain wrong. It's the sort of book to put on the table in your reception area, if you're a dentist, where people will be so angry after reading a little of it that they'll forget their fear.

If you're thinking of buying the book, here's what to do: Decide on the jobs you need to do, try and figure out from the book whether it tells you how to do them or not (it won't); then buy something else. I'm tempted to go into detail, but really, everything in the book is tackled in such a superficial and unhelpful way that there's no one area I can spotlight. But I'll just note one of the deliberate errors.

If you need to change the water-temperature sensor which tells the engine management system how hot the engine is, just follow the instructions, using the picture provided. They're very specific about which is which... but you'll end up removing the sender for the water temperature gauge. How the guys in the parts department will laugh when they spend hours scratching their heads, trying to find a match for it.

This is a thick book with most of the information you need. However there are no good drawings and the photos don't help too much. They try to cover too much and are not organized enough. I don't think telling you how to take apart and put together stuff is enough. Diagnostic tips, like the Bentley manual is what you need. However, this is alot cheaper.

We don't recommend you take on a pack of Sentinels with the Silver X-Claws, but do recommend showing them off to your friends. Constructed from stainless steel and sharpened to a razor sharp edge, handle wrapped in black leather for comfort. No knuckle guard has been added for hand protection, so caution is always advised. Customer Review: Very Cool, Decorative Peice

Its everything you'd expect from the pictures, the claw looks very cool, And the wall mountable plaque makes for a interesting display piece. I did have two issues with the claw I received.



1. The Claw doesn't hang properly on the plaque,this problem bugged me the most. The Plaque has two hooks that hold the claw in place when it is hanging on the wall, Unfortunately the holes for the hooks weren't drilled properly on mine so the claw hangs to the left slightly and not straight down. Not that hard to fix though I just drilled a new hole and filled in the other with a black filler.



2. The Blades on the claw aren't all aligned evenly, the middle claw is slightly lower than the other two blades. Its barely noticeable and didn't ruin the claw for me. Even if all the X-Claws are like this I'd still recommend it, I seriously doubt most people would notice or even care.



1 and 2. Both of these from what I can tell are quality control issues, I doubt all the X-claws have these problems. But if you want to avoid them you'd have to buy it in person and inspect it before you buy it.



Now for my personal recommendations if your going to buy this. The Claw comes sharpened so be extremely careful, its not razor sharp but you should still use the same caution you'd use with any blades. Just holding it in your hand and you can feel the blunt ends of the blades press into the fleshy area between your knuckles. If your going to actually try to wield it you should wrap or tape up your hand with special attention to the areas between your knuckles. Seriously though this is obviously a novelty item and not meant for combat of any kind. If you get one make sure its just for display, and put it somewhere out of reach from children.



Overall I'd say it was worth the money

I was looking for a sleeve to protect my Macbook and this Case Logic sleeve fit the bill nicely at a reasonable price. I wanted some extra padding and protection from scratches when I placed the laptop in a tote bag. This sleeve works great! I like that it is reversible. Also, it is a perfect fit for the Macbook and is thick and will provide a good bit of cushioning from minor impacts. Neoprene is waterproof which is also nice in case it rains or you spill something on your bag. One feature that I really appreciated is that there is NO ZIPPER! A lot of sleeves have zippers that are not shielded well from the laptop and can actually scratch your precious laptop. The flap folds down securely without any zipper. If you are looking for something with shoulder straps or extra space to carry adapters and other accessories you need a laptop bag or case and not a sleeve. If you are looking for a great laptop sleeve, though, this is it!

This is a great way to carry your laptop around. Very quick access to your computer, yet good protection too. Thick neoprene to protect your laptop from scratches, but overall, very small, and can fit in any bag or backpack. Also kinda fun. Definitely would buy this one again, if I ever needed to.

When are we consumers going to wake up and tell our accountants to take their requirement we use Quickbooks and give us some real alternatives?



I suppose a big part of the problem is that there aren't any decent alternatives. Quickbooks seems to have killed most of them off - but you might take a look at the open source GnuCash program. Perhaps it can morph into a Quickbooks alternative.

Customer Review: Obsessed

After being completely obsessed with Twilight I went and purchased the next two books in the series. Despite the heartfelt good bys in the beginning the book kept me interested with drama and a new love beginning to form with Bella. I guess I was rooting for Edward as I knew he would have to come back at some point but I wanted her happy wit Jacob too. The book was wonderful to read gave a lot of good information, love twist and suspense. I would gladly recommend this series!

Customer Review: Not as great as Twilight but still worth it.

So after becoming completely obessed with Twilight, I rushed down to the bookstore so that I could continue reading about Bella's journey in New Moon. I was all completely shocked, sad, and excited at the same time. I must admit that for a good part of this book it was almost getting to the point where I was about to fall out of love with this book. Bella goes through a very emotional time and it was getting to be a little boring to read about. But thankfully we get to see more of Jacob who brings a LOT more to the story. Just Like Twilight, New Moon is very adventurous and exciting. Now I can't wait to read Eclipse!

Customer Review: Buy another book. Any book.

Where can I start - I bought the Haynes manual to do some work on my E30. The book has two main problems - it doesn't contain the information you need, and some of what little information they bother to include is just plain wrong. It's the sort of book to put on the table in your reception area, if you're a dentist, where people will be so angry after reading a little of it that they'll forget their fear.

If you're thinking of buying the book, here's what to do: Decide on the jobs you need to do, try and figure out from the book whether it tells you how to do them or not (it won't); then buy something else. I'm tempted to go into detail, but really, everything in the book is tackled in such a superficial and unhelpful way that there's no one area I can spotlight. But I'll just note one of the deliberate errors.

If you need to change the water-temperature sensor which tells the engine management system how hot the engine is, just follow the instructions, using the picture provided. They're very specific about which is which... but you'll end up removing the sender for the water temperature gauge. How the guys in the parts department will laugh when they spend hours scratching their heads, trying to find a match for it.

Customer Review: Better than nothing but the Bentley books are way better

This is a thick book with most of the information you need. However there are no good drawings and the photos don't help too much. They try to cover too much and are not organized enough. I don't think telling you how to take apart and put together stuff is enough. Diagnostic tips, like the Bentley manual is what you need. However, this is alot cheaper.

Customer Review: Very Cool, Decorative Peice

Its everything you'd expect from the pictures, the claw looks very cool, And the wall mountable plaque makes for a interesting display piece. I did have two issues with the claw I received.



1. The Claw doesn't hang properly on the plaque,this problem bugged me the most. The Plaque has two hooks that hold the claw in place when it is hanging on the wall, Unfortunately the holes for the hooks weren't drilled properly on mine so the claw hangs to the left slightly and not straight down. Not that hard to fix though I just drilled a new hole and filled in the other with a black filler.



2. The Blades on the claw aren't all aligned evenly, the middle claw is slightly lower than the other two blades. Its barely noticeable and didn't ruin the claw for me. Even if all the X-Claws are like this I'd still recommend it, I seriously doubt most people would notice or even care.



1 and 2. Both of these from what I can tell are quality control issues, I doubt all the X-claws have these problems. But if you want to avoid them you'd have to buy it in person and inspect it before you buy it.



Now for my personal recommendations if your going to buy this. The Claw comes sharpened so be extremely careful, its not razor sharp but you should still use the same caution you'd use with any blades. Just holding it in your hand and you can feel the blunt ends of the blades press into the fleshy area between your knuckles. If your going to actually try to wield it you should wrap or tape up your hand with special attention to the areas between your knuckles. Seriously though this is obviously a novelty item and not meant for combat of any kind. If you get one make sure its just for display, and put it somewhere out of reach from children.



Overall I'd say it was worth the money

I was looking for a sleeve to protect my Macbook and this Case Logic sleeve fit the bill nicely at a reasonable price. I wanted some extra padding and protection from scratches when I placed the laptop in a tote bag. This sleeve works great! I like that it is reversible. Also, it is a perfect fit for the Macbook and is thick and will provide a good bit of cushioning from minor impacts. Neoprene is waterproof which is also nice in case it rains or you spill something on your bag. One feature that I really appreciated is that there is NO ZIPPER! A lot of sleeves have zippers that are not shielded well from the laptop and can actually scratch your precious laptop. The flap folds down securely without any zipper. If you are looking for something with shoulder straps or extra space to carry adapters and other accessories you need a laptop bag or case and not a sleeve. If you are looking for a great laptop sleeve, though, this is it!

This is a great way to carry your laptop around. Very quick access to your computer, yet good protection too. Thick neoprene to protect your laptop from scratches, but overall, very small, and can fit in any bag or backpack. Also kinda fun. Definitely would buy this one again, if I ever needed to.
